To ensure a smooth experience for all learners and instructors, LanguageBird has a clear policy for missed or late instructional lessons. Please review the following to avoid unexpected fees and scheduling issues.
When does a Make-up Lesson Fee Apply?
A $100 fee will be charged for missed instructional lessons if any of the following occur:
- A lesson is rescheduled less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time
- You do not show up or are tardy for a scheduled lesson
- Technical issues interrupt the lesson for more than 15 minutes
Instructors are required to wait up to 15 minutes before marking the lesson as missed. Please note that LanguageBird cannot be responsible for last-minute illnesses, scheduling conflicts, or technical problems on the learner’s side.
To avoid a fee, always reschedule the lesson through MyLanguageBird at least 24 hours in advance.
What Happens if a Lesson is Marked as Absent?
If an instructional lesson is marked as an absence, both the learner and the parent/guardian (if applicable) will receive an email notification. This message will be sent to the learner’s LanguageBird email address.
What About Tutoring, Conversational, Test Prep, or Mastery Lessons?
The late reschedule/tardy/absent make-up fee policy only applies to instructional lessons.
If you are tardy, absent, or reschedule a lesson less than 24 hours before the start time of a Tutoring, Conversational, Test Prep, or Mastery lesson:
- You will not be charged a fee
- The lesson will not be rescheduled or refunded
