Why Am I Being Asked to Confirm My Time Zone?

Confirming your time zone once will guarantee your class schedule stays consistent year-round.

What Are Time Zones?

A time zone is the region of the world that shares the same local time.

For example:

  • California is in Pacific Time (PT)
  • New York is in Eastern Time (ET)
  • London is in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

When you schedule lessons, all times are based on your local time zone to make sure your classes happen at the correct time for you.

 


 

What Is Daylight Saving Time?

In some places, clocks move forward or backward by one hour during certain parts of the year. This is called Daylight Saving Time (DST).

Even when this happens, your everyday appointments, classes, and work times stay the same local time for you.

For example, if your lesson is at 1:00 PM your time, it will always stay at 1:00 PM your time, even when the clock changes.

 


 

What Is Happening?


LanguageBird is updating how lesson times are handled so your classes always happen at the correct local time, even when Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts or ends.

The next time you log in, a pop-up will ask you to confirm your time zone. This step ensures that your lesson schedule stays accurate year-round.

 


 

What Do I Need to Know?

  • Your lesson time will not change. If your class is at 1:00 PM local time, it will stay at 1:00 PM local time, even after DST.

  • You don’t need to reschedule or make any changes.

  • Instructors in different regions may see a different time on their end, but your time stays the same.




What Do I Need to Do?

  1. When prompted, select your correct time zone (e.g., Eastern Standard Time).

  2. Click Confirm Time Zone.

That’s it — your lesson times will stay accurate automatically!

 


 

What happens if I don’t confirm my time zone?

You’ll be prompted again the next time you log in until you confirm it. Confirming ensures your schedule remains accurate.
